The Board of Directors would like to
thank all the residents who took the time and effort to put
up Christmas lights.
They were truly beautiful!
I heard great things about Santa in the Park... thanks WOW.
Our Christmas party for all of you was great; lots of food
and companionship. We collected four very
large boxes of food for the Bags of Hope Kids Club. We
used this occasion to give a big thanks to Deputy Daren who
is retiring. We presented him with a plaque for all
the years he has worked in Wekiva.
We will miss him!
Some people may say, "What if I decide not to pay my
homeowner’s dues this year"? Bad decision! By
the end of the year, the amount you owe Wekiva could amount
to over $1,000.00 with the cost of legal fees. Another
year of non-payment, and the amount owed would be in excess
of $2,000.00. Suddenly you have a larger problem...
the Association could take over the title to your house (we
have done this in the past). The bank still has the
mortgage, but we have the title. With the title, we
can then evict you from your house. In order to get
the title returned to you, there is the matter of now paying
closing costs, document fees, and attorney’s fees which
could easily run $2,000.00 for a total owed of at least
$4,000.00.
What a lousy way to start the new
year.
If you have not done so, pay
your annual dues NOW.
If you are having difficulty
paying, call the office and speak to Linda.

ON
THE LIGHTER SIDE
I
understand a rubber band pistol was confiscated in algebra
class, because it was a weapon of math disruption.
On
the same day a dog gave birth to puppies near the road and
was cited for littering. Had enough?
